How we handle your data on Card Prices — the website, the app and Card Research.

Effective Date: October 27, 2026
1. Information We Collect

Card Prices works on the web at card-prices.com and as a mobile app. Looking up prices needs no account. What we collect depends on what you use:

  • Account — if you create one, your email address and sign-in details, and the plan you are on.
  • What you keep in Card Prices — your collection, binders, wishlist, decks and trades; for sellers, your inventory (cards, conditions, prices, costs, storage locations, notes, sale history), checkout receipts, label settings, your vendor page (shop name, logo and anything else you choose to show) and the show helpers you approve.
  • Photos — photos you take to scan a card, and photos you add to your inventory. Scan photos and a crop of the card are kept with your scan history and used to improve card recognition. Inventory photos are published with your listings and on your vendor page, so anyone with the link can see them.
  • Connected marketplaces — if you connect a seller account (such as eBay, TikTok Shop, Shopify or your own website), we store the access you grant and read what we need to run your listings: your listings, stock, prices, order numbers and order status for the cards you sell, and the offers buyers send you, including the buyer name or username and message the marketplace shows with an offer.
  • Notifications — if you turn notifications on, your device's push address, so we can send alerts such as a sale or an offer to that device. It is removed when you turn notifications off or sign out.
  • Kiosk and price quotes — when a customer uses a seller's kiosk, the cards they pick, the note they write and any card photos they send for a quote go to that seller.
  • Payments — plans and scan packs are paid through Stripe. Stripe receives your card details; we receive the plan you bought, its status and a payment reference, never your full card number.
  • Usage and device information — pages and screens viewed, features used, app version, device and browser type, operating system and language, and error reports, used to keep the service working and improve it.
  • On your device only — recent searches, viewed cards and preferences such as the ZIP code you enter for card shows near you stay in your browser or app storage.
2. How We Use Your Information
  • To provide the service: show prices, identify scanned cards, keep your collection and inventory, print labels, and list, update and end listings on the marketplaces you connect
  • To keep your stock in step across channels — for example, marking a card sold when it sells on one marketplace and ending its other listings
  • To send the notifications you turn on, and service emails such as receipts and account notices
  • To process payments and manage your plan
  • To improve card recognition and pricing, and to understand which features are most useful
  • To secure the service and prevent abuse, including automated scraping and unauthorized data extraction

Under the GDPR our legal bases are contract (Article 6(1)(b)) for providing the service you signed up for, legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for security, analytics and service improvement, and consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for notifications and optional cookies.

3. Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage for essential functions such as keeping you signed in and remembering your preferences, and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used.

We may use advertising cookies to measure the effectiveness of promotional campaigns. These cookies help us understand how users find Card Prices but are not used to build personal profiles or sell data to third parties. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your browser settings or through the applicable ad platform's opt-out mechanisms.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:

  • Service providers that host and store data, deliver email, provide analytics and error reporting, and recognize cards in scan photos, each bound to use the data only to provide their service to us
  • Stripe, to process payments
  • Apple and Google, to deliver push notifications to your device
  • The marketplaces you connect, which receive the listings and updates you ask us to send them
  • Your show helpers and kiosk customers, who see only what the seller allows (helpers can mark your cards sold, traded, gifted or removed; kiosk customers see your public stock and prices)
  • The public, for what you choose to publish: your vendor page, your public stock list and your listings
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service

Your data is processed and stored in the United States. Where required, transfers are made under standard contractual clauses or another lawful mechanism.

5. Marketplace Pricing Data

Card Prices aggregates publicly available pricing for trading cards — product names, conditions, prices, listing availability and recent sales — to provide pricing and research. This is separate from the seller accounts you connect, which we use only to run your own listings as described in section 1.

6. Your Rights

GDPR (EU/EEA Residents): If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of access — you may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — you may request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restriction — you may request that we limit how we process your data
  • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object — you may object to processing of your personal data

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.

You may withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time by adjusting your browser settings. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

CCPA (California Residents): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will respond to verified CCPA requests within 45 days of receipt.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app; this deletes your account and the data kept in it. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Scan photos are kept with your scan history and to improve card recognition; ask us and we will delete yours. Disconnecting a marketplace deletes the access you granted it. Analytics data is kept for up to 26 months.

Data kept only on your device can be removed by clearing your browser or app data.

8. Children's Privacy

Card Prices and Card Research are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected].

9. Changes to This Policy

Card Prices LLC reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
